Remote ZIP
Browse a ZIP file on a server and download only the entries you need.
When a link points to a .zip on a server that sends parts of files (HTTP Range), SQDM can list what’s inside without downloading it.
Use it
- Paste the link in Add URL. If the ZIP qualifies, a Browse contents button appears.
- Tick files or whole folders. The footer shows the selected size and how much data you save — for example, “Selected: 48 MB of 9.6 GB — saving 99.5% data”.
- Choose Keep folder structure or extract into one folder, and start.
SQDM fetches only those entries’ compressed bytes, with several connections, then unpacks them and checks each file’s CRC32. The download pauses and resumes like any other, entry by entry.
What it can’t do
- Entries compressed with methods other than Stored and Deflate (Deflate64, BZIP2, LZMA, Zstandard, XZ, PPMd), and encrypted entries, are shown greyed out with the reason. Download the whole archive for those.
- Split or spanned archives aren’t supported.
- A server that doesn’t send parts of files (no Range support) can’t be browsed.
Entry names are checked for path tricks (.., absolute paths, drive letters) before anything is written.
