0.1.0
The first release, for macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows (64-bit).
New
- Downloads over up to 32 connections per file, with work stealing and adaptive connection counts that remember each site’s limit.
- Pause and resume, including after a crash or restart; the file is re-checked on the server before resuming.
- Queues, a scheduler with sleep / shut-down when done, categories and hourly or daily quotas.
- Browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Brave (Firefox as a temporary add-on), with a guided setup in the app.
- Torrents: magnet links, .torrent files, file selection, seeding limits, allowed networks and a kill switch. Off until turned on.
- Remote ZIP: list a ZIP on a server and download only the files you tick.
- Network bonding: one file over two networks at once.
- After-download rules: extract, virus scan, move, rename, run a command.
- Telegram bot for adding and controlling downloads; data dashboard with a monthly cap.
- Native apps: macOS menu bar and dock, Windows title bar, menus, tray and jump list.
Improved
- After installing, SQDM opens once in your browser at
http://127.0.0.1:9614, already connected — no pairing code needed on that computer. - The Windows installer has proper welcome, terms and finish pages.
- Finished downloads have calmer progress bars, so the ones still running stand out.
Fixed
- Opening SQDM from another device on the same network stayed on “Paired — opening SQDM…”.
- Windows: “Show in Folder” and “Open” did nothing for paths with spaces, and Explorer could open hidden.
- Windows: deleting a file that another program held for a moment needed several tries. SQDM now retries, and says so when a file is really in use.
