Short version: the app keeps everything on your computer, and this website doesn’t track you.
The SQDM app
Stored on your computer only (in the .mydm folder in your user folder):
- your download list, each download’s progress, and settings;
- logs of what the app did, for troubleshooting;
- tokens of the browsers, extensions and devices you paired (stored as hashes);
- data-usage totals for the dashboard;
- your Telegram bot token, if you add one (encrypted).
Sent over the network, only as part of what you ask for:
- requests to the servers you download from (with the cookies and referrer the extension passes on, for those downloads only);
- torrent traffic with other peers, when torrents are on — they see your IP address;
- Telegram’s servers, if you set up the Telegram bot;
- an update server, only if one is configured in the build.
License check (sent to us): when SQDM starts and every 5 minutes while it runs, it sends our license server at sqdm.stackquil.co.in your computer’s Machine ID (a code derived from, but not revealing, your hardware ID), the app version, the system (macOS or Windows, and the processor type), the date your trial started, and the license key if you entered one. The server keeps these with the time and IP address of the last check, so we can run the free trial and the licenses you buy. Nothing about your downloads, files or browsing is sent.
Not collected: no account, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, nothing about what you download. The engine listens on 127.0.0.1 only, unless you turn on access from other devices on your network.
The browser extension
The extension sends the downloads it takes over — link, file name, referrer, cookies for that site, and user agent — to the SQDM app on your own computer. Nothing goes to us or anyone else.
This website
- No cookies and no third-party trackers or analytics.
- Your browser remembers your theme and currency choice in its local storage. It never leaves your device.
- The host that serves these pages may keep standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and operations.
- Currency is chosen from your browser’s language setting, not your IP address.
